This course involves students in developing their practical and theoretical abilities in interpreting and producing images and motifs imbued with messages and meaning. Visual elements such as composition, line, shape, form, tone, colour and the various interpretations of all of these will be examined, discussed and reproduced to ensure understanding, competence and personality show in all students’ work. Students will undertake a range of initial exercises examining line, shape, composition, stress and balance and how these have an effect on the work of artists past and present.
